Thank you for joining us in Rigbarth for the launch of Rune Factory 5, ranger!

I wanted to make a central bug thread so you all know what we're working on and what information we need when you email us about any game bugs you encounter. I'll be trying to scour the threads for new issues, but if a bug is not up here already please post it in this thread so it'll be easy for me to find. We'd like to keep this thread focused on addressing gameplay issues, so for any questions or comments on other topics, please email [e-mail].

Useful debug information:

• DxDiag output
  
• Steps to reproduce the issue
  
• Screenshot of in-game settings and/or launcher settings
  
• Crash dump files
  Often located here %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps
  It would be from "Rune Factory 5.exe"

Please email [e-mail] with these details if you are experiencing issues with the game.

Here are some tips to make sure you're getting the best performance out of your PC!

• Make sure your graphics card is being fully utilized:
  
  • Stay updated with relevant drivers from your card manufacturer's website
    
  • Make sure you are using your main graphics card. Different graphics card manufacturers will have guides on how to always use your dedicated card.
• Add Rune Factory 5 to the exceptions of any antivirus program:
  
  • "Rune Factory 5.exe" is the executable file you need to add.
• Turn off any power saving mode your computer might be using:
  
  • Go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options
    
  • Balanced or High Performance profiles should be chosen. Any Power Saving mode will lower game performance.
    
  • If you are using a laptop, make sure it has sufficient charge or it may automatically go into a power saving mode.
• Make sure your PC has the latest Windows Update installed.

I tried searching a few locations for an answer to this but it seems the config tool can't find any resolutions higher than 1920x1080 if you have either 2 monitors or one of your monitors is running through Display Port (I can't discern the actual root of the issue but have narrowed it down to those).

I currently have a 4K TV as my main monitor (with a DP to HDMI adaptor) and a 1080p TV as a secondary monitor. Ideally, I'd like to be able to play the game on my main monitor at 4K but as mentioned above, the resolution options are limited to 1080p and lower.

I've tried disabling the 1080p monitor with no change as well as unplugging the HDMI cable with no change before giving up.

Any insight or solutions would be appreciated.

Is this the place to mention the stutter that happens no matter the setting?
I have a 3090 GPU and Ryzen 7 3800x CPU 32GB RAM and an SSD, and every 5-10 seconds the FPS drops from 120 to 119 and the world stutters for a couple seconds then goes back to normal.

Since this obviously isn't my PC being too weak to run at this level, I'm assuming something is going on with the game. It's pretty frustrating to have this happen because it's very regular and frequent and seemingly no setting will fix it. I tried 60 FPS also, and it simply drops to 59 every few seconds and stutters the same. Any help or word on a patch/fix for this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try to set framerate to 60? That fixed it for me. Doesn't stutter anymore.

I was able to go ahead and turn off vertical sync and DSR in the nVIDIA control panel, so try that.

I posted earlier about the stuttering and have been dealing with it, but now i've run into a real issue that seems game breaking:

I got the notice board quest to go try to open the door to the restaurant. Went over, got the cutscene outside where they open it, then inside I meet Fuuka, and as it's transitioning to the little anime intro scene for her the screen went to black, music stopped, and it just...stayed there. I'm using a controller so I tried pressing every button. The mouse cursor still works but nothing with that or the keyboard made any difference. It's just stuck on a black screen and I had to force quit the game and just lost 30 minutes of play time.

Is there any fix for this because if this happens every time then the game is basically unplayable because you have to do that quest to open up the restaurant and proceed with notice board quests. I'm scared to keep playing the game with this plus the stuttering. Really disappointing....

turning off v-sync in nvinda finally worked for me thanks.

My 5120x1440 monitor only gives 720p option in the configuration tool. Tested with someone elses 1440p monitor with my computer and it gave all the normal resolution options so the problem isn't with the computer itself.

Only way to do so is with a mod for now (till they add steam deck support natively), which can be found in Guides section of the forums

As far as I can tell it's the display port. Everybody I've seen mention that they're using display port on their main monitor and hdmi for secondary, only sees secondary resolutions. And it's the same with me. If I unplug my secondary I only see 1280x720

I also don't have an integrated GPU as has been the solution for others.
