benefits of platinum level farm tools?

so so finaly got my smith to 76 were i can make the platinum farm gear made a joy waterpot thinking ok every upgrade so far has given an additional charge level and this one should do entire main farm full charge ... nope other then maby using a bit less stamina it still only has 3 charges . so my question a am i just not holding key down long enough ( even tho i held it for a while) or b is there no 4th lvl of charge and if so are there any real benefits to the plat lvl farm gear. aside from more water capacity or higher seed lvl for sickle?

The fishing pole has a fourth charge. As far as I know it's the only tool to have one and contrary to RF4 that can't be transfered to other tools.

Theoretically you get a higher chance of rare drops such as Small and Large Crystals, and a lower chance of Scrap Metal from any mining node, as well as a higher chance of rune orbs while mining material stone. For both mining material stone and logging for lumber, you get a higher chance of getting an additional material per hit.

Aren't those tied to the mining skill? I started getting Rune Crystals on a regular basis around 98 mining despite using the same hammer than before.

The ability to get them at all is based on mining level, but the odds are affected by tool quality. IIRC relevant villagers explained this when you talked to them for the first time after reaching a certain level.
