Give us the Livia marriage DLC

Livia, Radea, and Terry all had datamined voice lines relating to marriage dialogue that was labelled as DLC. These unused voice lines are in both the Japanese version and in English in the western version.
What do the devs have against letting us marry the dragon? It's not like they were unaware of people wanting this after 4.

I will admit, others do bring up a good point, you have to take the target audience into mind. The characters would suit a teen audience.

I will simply not be purchasing this game. They took to many resources away to appease the twitter crowd and took away marriage candidates that got them this popular in the first place. They are just playing it safe like every other video game company in 2022. The best thing you can do is to not give them your money. Play old games instead.

I don't think that adding same sex marriage made Marvelous stop developing DLC for the base game. Although i would not be surprised given the pressure of "Political Correctness" on every piece of media.

Adding more options for releationships would be nice. But honestly i doubt that the modding scene for this game will be big enough to do this sort of stuff.

If I'm remembering correctly (probably not, it was a few months ago now) they cancelled plans for DLC characters on the basis of the game selling incredibly poorly. Shame too, I'd been waiting for this game since it was announced so having to skip it leaves me feeling a little empty inside.

I didn't start that string of comments, it was the moron complaining about stuff being removed to "make woke people happy" or whatever that last word they forgot to type was, I just responded to it with mockery 'cause I'm tired of seeing it come up in every game with romance options where some character isn't romanceable or some character is available as a gay romance or whatever

Complain about wishing a character was available, sure, nothing wrong with that, I only take issue when people like myself who just want to be permitted to exist without having something I was born with which I can't change about myself weaponized against me in an argument

It was never intended to start discussion, it was a response to someone mad that I exist in the way that I do and using it as the reason they can't have the thing they want - something I've every right to respond to, but sure, paint me as a pot-stirrer since that's easier for you to be aloof and apathetic about

Everyone just expects you to consider that the truth but nobody can ever provide anything pointing towards it other than it wasn't in the original Japanese release and got added in later. That... doesn't make an argument at all. Its circumstantial at best.

If anything, I'd wager the sales were not what they expected anyways and decided to drop it conveniently after the same sex update hit. Like, it could have been the Livia/Radea thing and this outcome still would have happened. No bugfixes, no optimization, nothing. I feel the same sex addition was nothing more than a hastily cobbled-together new feature that was otherwise unrelated to the whole debacle.

I'm of the same mind to this - hence why the "they removed it to please the woke" comment was particularly ridiculous to me

I personally think it must've been how RF5 didn't have the success of 4, got mocked quite a bit for lots of peeps finding it lesser than 4, so it wouldn't be insane to imagine them dropping would-be DLC because of the lukewarm reception

Speaking purely for myself, I can overlook the body of a child thing if the character themselves are capable of actually conducting themselves as an adult would. For example, Fire Emblem Fates has Nyx, an old woman who borked a curse and now has the body of a child. The most she will say on the matter is precisely that, and further insistence on it will likely get you some eye-rolling and then ignoring you whilst she focuses on finding a way to undo it. She also is perfectly willing to use her arcane know-how to guide people and offer wisdom. I can forget she is in a child's body and see her as an adult.

Nowi from Awakening however is a 1000+ year old dragon who is excitable, wants to play games like "Duck, Duck, Dragon" and House, and generally seems to never realize there is a war happening around her. You can't possibly convince me she isn't a child.

I don't mind marrying Nyx in Fates, and I only once married Nowi in Awakening for the Support logs (and promptly reloaded and picked someone else) and never again. Even that one felt uncomfortable.

In regards to Livia and Radea, I can see Livia as an adult just fine on her personality, and Radea doesn't even look like a child to me, only simply being a bit on the flat chested side, which so many seem to base female adulthood solely on. They're fine to me.

Pretty much mirrors how I feel about these sorts of characters - the problem for me's always been how lots of the time they pull the 1000 year old dragon excuse while they continue to act like an inexperienced child, and I just find that so friggin' uncomfortable

Thinking on it, it may be possible for someone to mod in those three in particular, though they would have QUITE the workload ahead of them and you wouldn't get a marriage anime cutscene. They'd have to write dialolgue for every possible instance for the respective characters (like holidays, pregnancy, and yes, cheating) while making sure it still in-character for the one in question.

Will it happen? Not likely but I won't say impossible. After all, if this community happens to have enough dedicated nerds, it WILL happen. Wouldn't be for a long time though.

Hey. If she abandoned her human form entirely and stayed in her dragon form, I'd still want to marry her. I'd probably want to marry her more. What's so sad about wanting to marry a dragon? I wanted to marry Ventuswill in Rune Factory 4 and that was before I even learned she had a human form. I think Lumenivia is cute.
