No we cant take over the bandit areas. And they will not despawn either. Just stay empty. But the roadmap with enemy raids may add to this.
We cant recruit either, but I think they talked about using them for more.
Villager gear and outfitting comes later.
No storing of money.

Well I guess the person above confirmed that bows are still not working right so I would avoid the skills/perks related to archery. I know I saw in the recent patch notes that bows were supposed to be fixed as far as damage calculation.
I can also confirm this from having played over the weekend. Bows are all but completely useless, and it literally doesn't matter whether you're using regular or extra crispy arrows, they don't affect damage in any way.
The sole use the bow has is to draw aggro on one enemy without alerting too many of their friends. Useful if you want to pick off a bandit camp one or two enemies at a time, or for pulling a boar or a wolf away from its group, but completely useless for scoring kills.
Body shots on a looter barely do any damage, but a wooden arrow from the shortbow to the face will chunk half their health.
I also use bow in clearing the Deserter Camp and the damage is barely scratches them. I use it to pull one enemy but any near enemy will come automatically and mostly 3 of them. Like I said the bow is useless because they can outrun and can't block nor parry and the damage sucks even I am using the iron arrow. I even thought I equip wood arrow at first.The automatic Target is useless also in bow because it either shoot above the head or the armor...
Is this in warrior perk ? I didn't see it. So far all I see is blocks and parry.
