new Jizo figurines

Does anyone know what to do with the new Jizo figurines around the map? They don't seem to affect the spiritual score at all when you p[lace them in your town. (actually can't place them, just have to drop them where you want them) Is there any purpose to them other than just decoration?

They provide spirituality to your villagers so they can be "consumed" by them if you put those in a general storage.

They sell for 33 coins a pop on Normal difficulty, which is a nice chunk of change in the earlygame.

why would you do that? You can make tools very cheap to sell. Then use these for their genuine purpose. Simply put them in your general storage for the refugees who work very hard and need the spiritual influence boost so they consume them. By collecting these and putting them into storage, it eases the load off yourself with the spiritual demand having to make the spiritual items. You should also put any spiritual items you get from bandits and loot in general storage for the same purpose.

Why would I do that? Because it's the earlygame and you just find them lying around waiting to be picked up. By the time I need spiritual items for my villagers I'm more than capable of easily manufacturing them (or creating a little shrine and getting someone to work it), so it's less important to loot the overworld for them.

I was too afraid to pick them up for awhile. I thought they might belong to someone.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm one of those people who pick up everything they can and steal everything in Skyrim and stuff. But this game is set in Japan and I was just trying to be polite! X-D

I put them on display on the roads inside my villages for decorations, just drop them to the ground.
