AI generated artwork
I kind of want to buy this game, but the AI art on display is really putting me off. The game graphics look great afaik, but you really don't need to stoop to the level of having the character on main display wearing his clothing like a corpse (right side over left)...

AI in the promo stuff, to me, just screams lack of effort. I mean looking at the art it has that weird polish thing AI does. Just puts me off. At least with old school box art, the art had some soul in it, even if it was incredibly misleading lol. :winter2019sadsnowman:

Just because it is wrong does not necessarily mean it is AI generated.
It could just be an honest mistake.
Funnily enough, it is correct in the library banner and the bachground of the community hub.
It is also correct everywhere I checked in-game.
It is only wrong in the store image and the end screen of the promotional videos

It is obviously AI-generated. With farmers working the fields without tools in their hands, a house with nonsensical architecture, weirdly scattered about wooden poles that follow no pattern, an organic, asymmetrical roof tip that no artists would ever design that way, the lady's hand seemingly having 5 knuckles instead of 4, and of course the general AI sheen that anyone should be able to immediately identify as the product of machine learning. The art is AI-generated, full stop. And it's not tagged as such.

^There's that and artifacts beyond that indicating prompts not really being interpreted well by whatever the model the devs using. Shame because it's piss easy to use AI for good image generation, a free weekend and entry-level gaming PC is all uou need to get started, enough at least to say "prove it" to disclaimers.

Don't buy it. Seeing the AI promotional materials made me create a curator page just to not recommend this game, as well as other games that use genAI

It's really unfortunate, I don't usually care if it's like, a new studio or something, but one with a successful game, should be paying artists.

If the claim is even right:
Many AI art looks better than being done by human, so I do not see an issue here.
