Is there a requirement for NPCs to automatically mine local ores?
Hi,

I just founded my second village northeast of the large lake (liberated) near Segi, hoping I could get a stable and automatic income of tin, mud and ice. However, when I built a mining post and assigned NPCs to mine tin and mud, the local resource availabilities were checked as X EVEN THOUGH I BUILT THE MINING POST RIGHT NEXT TO THE MUD PILE AND NEAR THE TIN DEPOSIT. Can I have NPCs automatically mine only resources listed in the local resources benefit in the map menu? The Korean translation is adding more confusion rather than helping me understand the system.

Thank you in advance for providing help.

your village bell need to be inside of region where you want to gather/mine resources.

So does that mean if I want to automatically gather or mine certain resources, I should place my village bell in the region where it provides those as a liberation benefit? I can’t have NPCs gather them just because they are included in the village area?

so what about when the bell IS in that area and you can still mine nothing other than stone unless you do it manually. My second village is by the lake and I specifically pulled the map up to check and only assigned the area stuff listed and it won't mine anything even with the tools available. "River Bank Region" (villager resources are ice, clay and premium conifer) I assigned ice and clay as the clay was needed for maintenance levels, I'm in winter now and the winter stipulation is a green check and the regional markers are red X when they should not be and with the workload maxed with those 2 it shows Ice x 0 and Clay x 0 with the Luxury/Maintenance as a green 0 where it would normally show the increase to that stat. prior to the last update I did not have these issues and they exist with every mining post from time of building completion, literally the only thing not working from what I can tell. I took pictures of both screens, but unsure how to add them.

Is the area liberated?
To assign villagers to automatically gather the area specific resources like metals/premium wood you have to liberate the area. Build the area specific work poject and clear the large enemy camp if it has one.
