In regards to the new map, will we be able to travel back and forth?

As seen in the roadmap, a new map will be released in the future. I think that it would be cool if, aside from choosing the map where you want to start in when creating a new game, we could travel back and forth between both of them (via cart or boat). That would allow us to continue the adventures of our dynasty instead of keeping both maps sepparate.

For simplicity's sake on the coding side, resources wouldn't need to be shared, and only our character would be moving between them with whatever they can fit in their inventory. This would also allow for more potential expansions down the line.

Is this being considered, or is the final design already set in stone?

As far as I read in the developer comments on some of the threads, the next large update will require a new game play-through. I do hope I am wrong though.

As I understood it, they try to keep the saves compatible between updates. A warning message might appear due to the version differences, but the saves should still work.
