how to do production

I've built the forager building and the woodcutter building. i've put a food storage bag in the forager building. and a food storage bag in the shed. But when i assign a worker to it, it says no food storage.

likewise in the wood cutters hut, i have put a general storage container with an ax in it. And in the shed i have a wood storage pile. i've also built the log bench.

in both cases when i assign someone to the building it says no storage or no ax in storage

you would need to build an actual storage building. If you put a container it wouldnt work. also in the general storage you need to add tools for them to use

You need to build all storage buildings (the houses), not only the bags or crates. So you need a food storage, a wood storage and a general storage HOUSE. You put your axe into the general storage house container. The forager might need a food storage house too.

A shed is not a storage facility. Only the buildings are storage facilities. I put up a section in the guides dealing with this if you need it.

You go into buildings, storage... Shed isn't in that category.

Yeah the shed can just give you expanded space, but you still need to put the appropriate storage in every production building itself too.

I have built the storage, then the respective storage to it (wood, food, drink, general) in the general storage I have tools in it. Make sure you finish them, and the mandatory internal decorations.
Same with houses, if you want to move someone there.
Make sure you put tools in the general storage, and when you have all this, and a job, select to tool for the job, in the jobs menu too.

I have the forager hut. I have the food storage and general storage. I have the containers in all the buildings. Jobs/ppl are assigned. So are amounts. Forager will get grass. But won't get food. Why? It doesn't say they need a tool. Why won't they go forage for food?

Have you set the production amount?
