How do we get oil?

ive searched goole to try fine the answe but no idea, im trying to make oil lamps however I cant find the oil

If I remember correctly at the moment you can only buy it. I know I bought some in Iwasaki last time.

Need to make the bottles at the woodcutter. Then get fresh fish, from loot or traders, and harvest water from well using buckets. Cook at upgraded stove.

I found a cooking pot for trade in the woodworking village. Putting it on a hearth unlocked a menu that showed (fish+water=oil) however i think it was locked.

Yes u need a cooking pot...also you will need to finish some quests to unlock the oil...for some reaqson i have it unlocked not sure how...

Hi, you need to buy or unlock kettle (cooking metal pot) in smithing table (i think they modify the dynasty lvl to be 7) and make a cooking fire in a house with it. It will show you all advanced recipes (like oil, meds, and so on)
get water in a well in your town (no needs of bottles, they're used for meds), a fish and you'll just have to cook ;)

even not at lvl 17 you won't get fishing building... and devs are not clear on what production buildings are really in game or not... :/

I startet a new game and I got the fishing building from one of the first quests (old man who dies). Building is in the game :)

I've *not* saved his life, and *don't* have the fishing building :-/ @dietutnix did you finish his quest before or after the update yesterday? maybe it changed?

Used to be able to make oil from canola at a cooking station, Now, it is made from raw fish and water. If that is the case, why do you need canola??

Look this is my guide:
If your village have access to river you can build a fishing hut, end of story
If your village was deep inside have no access to river (like me) make a canola farm, and build a Kitchen, once built a Kitchen you can build an OIL PRESS station help you turn canola into oil
