I made a suggestion in the subforum that as of yet was left unanswered, so I'm sorry to insert myself here:
It feels like there is no reason to not already have fast travel other than intentionally wasting the players time so they can't get anywhere in the game in under the 2 hour refund window.
You are forced to stay in the starting area for hours (with the mentioned treks across country) due to the nature of the start area quest giver's tiny little progress turn ins until you can even get a second bell to then theoretically have two fast travel points.
Now, to be clear, I'm not saying this is intentional to waste my time, but I'm saying it feels that way so very much that it is plain unfun.
We need a fast travel option right away, and if at all possible without the forced intro sequence that takes longer than any game I ever played dares to force me into.
Hideo Kojima would go "Yeah that's a bit much with the forced intro", and I'm not even talking about repeat plays yet.
Starting over / starting a new game make me straight not want to even bother, I'm sorry.
Like I said in the suggestions, I'm truly sorry for the negativity, I like what I'm seeing, but not how the game treats the players' autonomy.
Perhaps a sandbox mode can be an option at some point.
People these days want everything faster and even faster, like it should be done almost yesterday..
