How do you get bamboo?

They grow near the river and near Iwasaki, for example. Small bamboo can be hit with an axe to get the material.

There's a small house to the east of the ruins of Sosogi, home to Chiyumi. There are small bamboo trees here and some further east along the road up past the bridge construction project site.

I found them but says i need better axe iron axe? How i get that? Thanks

Larger bamboo (the towering tall kind) require an iron axe. you'll need to progress into the game a ways before you can get them so focus on the smaller bamboo trees. There are plenty and they only need the stone axe.
