i cant join the hunt

mission bugged out for me or something any tips on what to do w/o resseting the whole game

Well, first, you're going to have to give more details. It helps when you describe as much as you possibly can instead of just saying "I can't join the hunt."
That being said, the usual issue is that the elder does not warp to his location at the hunting area. This is often caused by allowing too much time to pass between giving the fur to Fujiuchi and giving him the Bow. Especially if several seasons have passed. If this happens the quest is, for now, completely broken and unable to be finished. It is a known bug and being worked on.
For future reference (and for any and all who may be having the same issue), it is best to waiting until you have a half-bow before even beginning this quest. Half-bows are available from Fujiuchi, his wife Aki, and the Impure across the bridge in Segi and the Warrior Monk trader at the Temple once you reach Dynasty Legend level 8 or higher. Vendor inventory is randomly generated each season so you'll have to wait if one doesn't appear. Once you have the bow and 10 fur, start and finish the quest in the same season. I have never experienced this quest break because I always wait for the half-bow to be available for sale before starting it so this method always works.

RIGHT i did encounter this bug today myself.
try and find the little outcover they are supposed to gather in, just walk there and it kicks off the quest, i'm about to go bug report it myself.

i already had all the pre requsit stuff and gave the bowq nd fur imediatly yet i had the same issue there is something more at play this is the second go through its happend in similer fashion the first time i took my time but it didnt happen the last 2 times i alreadyt had the stuff ready i restarted the first time cause of the update that changed some of the textures to give myself a clean slate
