How to store my weapon on the wapon rag?

I build the weapon rag in my home or the weapon decoration thing and I can not put my weapons on it? What am I doing wrong?

Open your build menu with the hammer equipped, select Decorations, then Weapon Rack. You will then be able to mount any available weapons from the radial menu.

But how do you mount them? I'm on pc and have the weapons equipped but once they're in hand theres no placing option. With hammer in hand, theres no choice yo select a weapon to place either. I'm missing the right combo of clicks somehow

The weapon can't be in your hand or a quick slot. It has to be in your personal inventory. There are also only certain weapons that can be mounted based on the decoration build radial menu.

Also, be aware that once a weapon is mounted on a rack it can't be retrieved.

wtf? this is stupid. the point id have a rack is for quick retrieval :/
