DO I need each storage building in each village?

is there an advantage/disadvantage to putting each type of storage in each village? For example Ice storage seems logical in areas where you can get ice, however... what about where you cannot?

You do if you want access to the storages. Its mostly for convenience. But yeah I only have ice where my brewery, but if you have a town where you personally "live" you could build an ice storage there and save yourself a trip to the town with your brewery.

If your village has workstations, it will require the appropriate storage buildings within the bell radius for those tasks to get good from. So, if you have a workstation that requires water to make something, you will need to have a Beverage Storage Building in range. You will also need a storage for the good being produced. Needs don't seem to require the buildings anymore so your villagers should be fine.
For your question about ice, you will need it in the region where you are mining ice and any region that uses ice for production. As I rule, I simply build all the storage buildings in every village I found except ice storage because I do not use ice.

You say this but my people within the work station were already pulling things from the general storage to craft, produce, and store things. I don't understand what are you talking about needing all the other storage when the general storage works just as well or even better because of space?

for them to access it Yes they do need it in each village. then you can just build mini conveyance things like shed or decoration types you can put in buildings. Stupidly though building more storage doesn't mean More storage, it just means MORE buildings but no extra storage.
