I do not know what others doing and honestly i wont just follow.

But i made my 2nd village east of Iwasaki at the river near the bandit outpost, nice flat area and good for iron mining plus it looks nice there :)

i was thnking of that exact spot. it is a good one. but so remote, imo. i went othe side of iwasaki - got iron there too. i thnk iron is super important at mid stages. that is where i am right now. need steel for better weapons in mid game. will hve to look at the highest stuff becaue i tried to fight samari leader and it was no go, even with a steel katana. so will liberate and get some better weapons and armor for final stages.
I agree that the spot near the river across of the iron processing plant in Iwasaki is the best for your 2nd village. Just make sure the bell cover the iron processing plant so a villager can be assigned to mine iron which is more efficient than the mining building you can build. Although later on you still going to need to build your own mine due to how much iron you need to produce steel. Basically you want your second village to be able to produce iron since it is a mid game resource so that you can progress in liberating tougher regions. Note that simply having iron or steel equipment won't make you invincible.

There is actually another spot with a similar building. Along that river if you follow it south there should be another "processing plant" which I assume is for iron as well. Although, I believe it is under another region which is more difficult to liberate. Just in case you want another spot.

Lol. Thats also where I built my second village. Almost directly across from Iwaski's iron processing watermill. Didn't know I could assign a villager to mine iron at it though. I didn't seen an indication I could when assigning jobs in the Dynasty panel for that village though? Do I need to visit the watermill directly or is my bell too far away?

I wasn't thinking much of iron supply though, more along logistics. Putting in there gave me another good fast travel point to minimize walking time.

Im not sure about the "best", for me I just took the 2 region with region I want to have access to and that pretty much it, if you want a "beautiful" place, im not sure

Do you guys just skip tin and bronze?
I guess you can if you go straight for iron, I did not even think about that approach.
I do my playthrough super slow, I am in no rush so therefore went for tin next, just built a small town in the mountains that I can expand with whatever buildings I want.

I did not research anything about the game, just threw me into it, and ended up with now 3 towns, and no town access for iron, because I wanted automated ice instead. I had/have no idea of how fast you get more towns.

If they included tin in the same as copper, my playthrough would have been done completely different, probably like you guys do.

You'll need at least a bronze pickaxe to mine iron yourself, though they can be bought. You'll also need bronze for a few other things, like the fast travel outpost. But generally, yes, I feel like you really don't need a mass supply of bronze like you'll need with iron.

I'm starting to realize my playthrough is probably stuck, or I will have to grind for tens of hours to move on, if even possible.

This makes me sad.

I have a hard time identifying what this game wants to be.
Not a survival game.
Not a management game or they should give proper overviews for that.
Not a dynasty game either, where is your army?

I think I will put this game away and maybe come back later at some point, the game does not feel finished.
The devs ARE active, so that gives me hope. 👍
I feel like this game becomes more like a "job" with the insane amount of micromanaging through bad interfaces.
If I want to "work", I would play satisfactory, factorio or something similar.

This game has to find it's identity and multiple changes needed or I predict this game will slowly die.
I give this game 4/10, but with the potential to be WAY higher. The question is if the DEVS are up to the challenge.
But as for a 1.0 release, this is a generous 4/10.

Good luck and I hope to come back next time to a great dynasty/managment/citybuilder/survival or whatever it will be in the future.
I was entertained, but not blown away. ❤️

There should be a job place called iron processing or something if the building is within the influence of your bell tower. For me, it's at the bottom of the job list. Also, it's a special project so you have to build it like other special project (workshop, assign villagers and wait one season). Note that for special project workshop, you can kind of cheese it a bit by assigning villagers just before the season ends as they don't need to work on it for the entire season. For the iron processing plant job, you can only assign 1 villager but you get 100 iron per day from that and you can increase it slightly by providing better pickaxe.

You can skip bronze by buying bronze pickaxe in Iwasaki if it is available just like bateluer said. But, you still need bronze for other stuff (very important: fast travel outpost).

Note that currently if I'm not mistaken you can only have 4 villages. You can move your bell tower but in order to do that, you can't have any building around it. So, either demolish them or move them 1 by 1 to another village.

You get more bell for bell tower by reaching higher dynasty level I believe.

Ice is useful for your brewery but imo it's better to mine it yourself considering ice can only be mined during winter.

Just like bateluer said, you don't need bronze as many as iron so when it comes to bronze, hopefully you have a village in a region where you can automate either tin or copper and just mine the other manually.

My first village is in Enjiro Rebels Region. I can get tin and copper there.

I used this plant south of Segi, placed my bell on opposite of the plant on the other side of the river nearly in the water. I got the plant working and ironsand in the regular mining post. One hit, two flies.

Yea were to place your villages now all comes down to what the regional resources are after liberation or like some said can build close to the iron processing projects for iron.

My 1st camp was in the region that gives you copper & tin (built on the little island) the game kinda implies for you to build your 1st village in the starter area but you dont have to do that if you don't want to.
My 2nd camp was in the region that gives you ice/clay/premium conifir (built right in front of an iron mine)
My 3rd village was the river between segi & swamp region cause the iron processing building is their. Build on the south side of the river bank with the iron building inside your bell tower range and you will be able to get iron & ironsand from here after you liberate the swamp region
My 4th village will be in the Temple region lots of good stuff their but thats a end game area
Maybe in the future we'll get more bell towers but atm the most i have seen is 4 so kinda got to be a little strategic.

Have you confirmed that you are actually able to do this? I'm pretty sure the regional resources you get are based on whichever region your town bell is actually in and not where your town overlaps.
Spinblade Nov 27, 2024 @ 4:28pm
If you build on the south side of the river then you are in the swamp region which is the iron sand and if you make sure the iron processing building is in the bell range then you can also place someone in it and get iron (and yea i have village here atm and it works)

Ohh, I get what you are saying, the iron is just coming from the facility and not the region.

When I try to place people in the iron processing facility, I can put a person in but it won't let me select any tool for them to use, so it remains unusable.

I have pickaxes of every kind up to bronze, but no dice.
