Iron Ore Mines
I've just discovered that you can't set up mining in Iron ore mines if that is not a designated iron ore area?... Not making much sense to me as all the caves still have iron ore but can't be mined unless it is by you? The one iron ore processing place is not bring in enough iron ore, so went to set up a mining town at the mine in Central Plains region where I used to have a mining town and now I can't mine it... in fact the only thing
I can mine there is Ice?? The lake is not near the cave and copper and tin rocks are all around that I can't mine and only iron ore and stone in the cave. Can't mine any of those with the mining hut.

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, but there seems to be a fare bit of the changes in 1.0 that don't really make much sense to me.

I understand having regions that mostly cater to certain products but if that's the case then same products shouldn't be found over other parts of the map I would've thought or at least be able to set up other productions with less quantity in these other areas also.

I'm open to explanations because I just seem to be chasing my tale with production most of the time.

Yeah, I really don't like the fact that you can't mine clay for example, near the clay. (This is just one example of many resources in which this is a problem.) It is restricted to specific regions, but that doesn't align with where the actual resources are physically found on the map. I think that any area that has a resource, should be minable for that specific resource. How would this hurt the game at all if it were changed? It just gives the player more choices and that is always a good thing.

It is if you think of the regions as countries. You would not just go across the border and take stuff "because it is there".

Open the map and mouse over the regions, it tells you what it contains.
Then build a town in the region and collect the materials that the map told you exists.

If the current system doesn't quite meet with your approval, please leave your thoughts and suggestions over in the feedback forum. Spark discussion and debate over the pros and cons. Most importantly, let the developers know how you feel (but please remember to be polite and constructive!). The game has plenty of opportunities for improvement and player input has always been very valuable to them.

My guess for the details was not enough time anymore. The iron mines are still as there were in early access. There was only iron and no copper or tin. That got added in 1.0 release version. That's the reason why also this one quest give you tools to craft that are now late game. Will be changed for sure when there is time for it.
