2nd Village Location suggestion ?
Any good suggestions ?
Iron? Ice? Paper tree?
I think most of us jump into iron age very soon, so tin isn't the problem.

Now I have 2 extra bell in level 15, need another out post for resources soon

Edit: this part does not work, sorry: *Makes sense to place them at the border or even triple border of areas, even if they are not yet liberated. That way you can place the related buildings to the side of the bell where they can access the resources needed.*

In the beginning I found the rebel region a good option (both Copper and Tin), and later the Ice+Paper in the middle.
My main village is near the ironworks South of Segi, so that covers iron.

Does that work now? Old strat guides say that you only get the resources of the region where the town's bell is. Even if you build in a bordering region.

Certainly a matter of opinion as to which resource to prioritize, but I like setting up in the central plains region by the lake. You have access to paper trees and ice. You can start moving your farm land there and use the farmers in the winter to mine ice for sake production.

As for iron I generally move past iron and steel fast enough that I don't need villagers mining it for tools.

You are right, sorry. I've just tested and apparently it is still defined by the bell.
My main village is south of Segi, the bell standing on the coastal swamps area, but since the circle encompasses the ironworks on the Segi side, it also can be accessed by workers.
This gave me the idea, that it works elsewhere too, but apparently not (just tested). It only works with this Ironworks building (Maybe also with the one in Iwasaki, but have not tested that one).

What do you mean move past Iron and Steel ? you mean to Masterwork level with Ironsand?
Since this combat was introduced and I have to single-handedly hunt down dozens of bad guys even for a simple copper cama, I wouldn't say moving past is fast in any way. I only have 2 more regions to liberate, but still no access to Masterwork level...
Maybe you've meant something else?

Generally i focus on ensuring the special project for the region (liberation required project only) is complete each season even if i have to go back to finish the main camp or camps to liberate and unlock the tools but in general the order below works for me.

Year 1 Liberation
Sosogi - unlock copper tools and copper mining for villagers
Mountain region - unlock bronze tools (gather tin yourself)
Iwasaki region - unlock iron tools (gather iron ore yourself)
Eastern swamps region - unlock small tatara furnace (steel)
  • finish Iwasaki questline for armor
  • be sure to grab all iron from Iwasaki mine before years end

Year 2 Liberation
Segi region - unlock tanning vat and long bow
Coastal swamp region - unlock forge (large tatara furnace for tamahagane steel)
  • if needed return to Iwasaki mine for additional iron
  • gather iron sand yourself
