Can trees respawn from stumps?
As I understand trees are suppose to respawn in general every 8 seasons (2 years), but does anyone know if they regrow from stumps or should I remove them?

They can regrow. Afaik from a close nearby position.

From my observance, the stump itself despawns, then a new sapling appears. However, this takes up an extra season (one for despawn, one for sapling spawn) so it pays to remove that stump to get regrowth going sooner.
