Nothing is being done?
My workers are not working. I have allocated jobs, they have top quality tools set to produce to max. No wood is cut, no planks are made, no firewood is produced? The same with them all. I am getting feed up with having to hunt, chop, pick. When I used to play this game, about a year ago I did not have this problem. What is going on, or wrong?

Does it say 0 next to map or is there a number like 16? Sometimes just need to click max 2 times, if the goods the need for the job is on storage. if it says 0 you will get zero and lack something for them to produces

Are you basing this solely on nothing in storage after the daily production run, or do the production statistics also show problems with production? It's a good idea to check the production slots between production runs to make sure they're still set at max, etc. Possibly they're under-producing - not enough to leave any excess after the daily needs and items for the current day's production run are pulled. You can check by temporarily setting all of the carpentry station slots, for example - logs, firewood, planks, etc. - back to 0 to see if anything gets thrown back into storage. If they're literally not producing anything, it's a technical problem of some kind. If they're under-producing, you will need to find a way to increase it with higher value products and/or additional workstations and workers.

Have done all you suggest, I bring in a small amount of meat so there is something to cook. Hunter has max settings yet brings nothing, rinse and repeat for nearly all production.

In that case, you might want to see about verifying the game files (see the Troubleshooting Guide pinned in the Bugs - Technical Issues section) and/or reporting it there so you can get some assistance.

Try and make new tools for them and change it with new one, sometimes the tools get used up, but they keep showing as being there, that will make them make 0 until tools is change. It gets used up, but it don't get removed, so it looks like they have tools when they have none

Many files were corrupted, now validates as ok. Will see if this fixes the production problem.

Still not working. Animations are happening, nothing appearing. I am having to do everything, from firewood to cooking food I have to get because the hunter is not producing. All jobs are correctly assigned, items to max but zip, nada.

The most obvious question is: did you start a new game or are you trying to continue your save from 'a year ago'?

It's a new game.

I must have played this game for over 100 hrs, so I know how to set production up. I used to get too much, now I am getting nothing.

Okay, I had to ask because this has cropped up a time or three (thousand).
So, there is something you can do if you would.
First, check your Jobs screen in the dynasty tab. Look at the Maintenance Need. The green number will be your production, the red number will be your consumption. Make sure the Needs slider is set to orange-level (base). Now, get enough carpentry stations built to house enough people to make at least TWICE what your maintenance needs are in planks (so, if your Needs are 2,000, make 4,000 points worth). Use Conifer logs and planks.
Each carpentry station should have two jobs for logs and two jobs for planks. If you use the same tool for all, they'll balance out nicely. You need a LOT of planks for maintenance depending on your population, though. Pull population from other jobs if you have to (you don't have to save the game and happiness has no effect right now).
Now, get through to the daily production line in your compass "clock." You can sleep and adjust the hours slept until it says daily production will fire, then cut back one hour.
Now, go to your wood storage and empty the top 4 rows, moving things down (or stuffing them in your inventory) to make room for the planks.
After the production cycle ticks for the day, open your wood storage again and check those top four rows. If there are still no planks in the wood storage, the next step will be to transfer this to the Bugs Section and get your save game to the support system.
