How do I recruit Ako?

I'm just starting. The guy in the first village gave me my bell. I built it and then got the message saying I have to ask people to join, including Ako.

I figured i'd need somewhere for Ako to sleep first so I took a few extra minutes to build a house, and when I went to go ask Ako to join the only thing she says is "i'm starting to beleive in this idea". No actual option to ask her to join is there. The house is complete. What am I missing?

Go into your Dynasty tab, click on Population, then on Ako's name. Assign her a sleeping area there.

Build the first House and add her to village after talking to her.

how to recruit villiagers
1. make sure you have a extra house with bed
2. go to talk to 1 of them 1 of the options will be to let them in ur village
3. go to dynasty tab and assign them the house/ bed, (you can assign jobs this way)

Okay. Still missing some key step obviously because I still can not get Ako to go to my village. I've now built THREE houses. I assigned myself one in the Dynasty menu. But nobody else is in the dynasty menu for me to assign. So Ako's still sleeping on the beach every night. WTF?

Edit: Oh I figured it out. I was ignoring the dude in the village cuz, who cares about helping that random stranger when my BFF is sleeping on the beach every night? I prioritized gathering resources and building somewhere for her to live. Didn't realize I had to keep helping the rando before I could help the best friend lol

You need to talk to Toyota?... the guy at the entrance that doesn't move... he directs you talk to Ako I think..
