Bugged or not able to use yet?
Hello...
I have been playing the new updated game version and discovered that the NPC I have assigned to a farming field is indeed using it but there is *no visible crop . It looks like it may be bugged. Also the *ginger seed bag does not work when put in a slot and then activated. Nothing happens in the season it is allowed to be planted. *Please extend the *general storage as there is not enough capacity presently to accommodate items needed for farming.
One last thing,,,, why is is I can not craft the *large paper lamp? I have all the materials to do so.
By the way...I am really enjoying your game you've created. :steamhappy:
Thanks for replying to my concerns. Have a wonderful day!

What I like about Sengoku Dynasty, unlike medieval dynasty, is that you do more building than repairing houses, you don't throw out the garbage from each house, and you don't replenish food and firewood for winter!

Yes I got also problems with the amount of items you can store at the general storage. My storage is full and the workers can't drop what they farm or produce. Items like clothes, seeds and tools should be stackable and additional wooden boxes should give more capacity if you drop them in the general storage. I hope this gets fixed soon. I already posted it at suggestions ;)

I also got the feeling that the people eat too much and use too much firewood. I got meanwhile 19 people and they really need too much stuff. Either they produce too few or the amount of needs is just too high. Also the weapons they take are too many.

Also it would be helpful if the villigers would take some clothes from the storage. Can I give them any of them? I found a lot of hats, shoes and robes, but none of them get used by my people.
As for weapons, there is a separate storage for this, as for clothing, in the game you can all run naked even in winter, until they did not make requirements for weather conditions unlike Medival Dynasty! And workers and you can run naked all year round!

As always Winter thanks for the answer, I did try that to just ignore the needs a bit and ended up very fast in the red. Till I had the people back up in a better mood it took quite a while, so I am not risking it anymore and I don't like to be worried all the time about any needs.

As I wrote above, in this game less have to replenish the needs of the residents unlike Medival Dynasty, there had to constantly, clean up after the residents and replenish each house needs, repair all the houses manually!

The basic concept of the current needs is this:
If you maintain the needs for the orange smiley, there is no change in happiness.
If you provide enough for a green smiley in one need, happiness will increase by 1 which equates to a 5% production boost. Each need provided for in the green increases this for a maximum of 6 bonus to happiness and a +30% bonus to production.
If you fail to provide for a need to orange smiley, happiness will decrease by 2. Yes, double the penalty. This equates to a -10% production per drop! By this calculation, for six needs, you would lose 12 happiness and suffer a -60% production penalty.

Happiness is adjusted by these values at season change. So, if you get your happiness up to +2, meeting the minimum orange smiley needs will keep your people at +2 happiness indefinitely as maintaining the needs does not change happiness (in either direction).
You said you ignored needs so that means you didn't provide any! -2 happiness and -10% production every season for every need! No wonder your people were mad. Meeting orange needs is not equivalent to ignoring needs. Far from it. Always always always meet the orange needs or your village will tank just as you experienced. Only do green smiley once in a while when you add new people.

I ignored them, because I expected the professions to work. I hired people to supply the needed stuff, but it did just not work as it should ;)
With ignored I meant that I did not myself bring the goods.

In fact, for me personally, the main ones here are basically several professions: 1 food: Fishing, meat extraction, Eggs, field with rice! 2 Firewood! All the rest are small things that you can get in a short time (clay, medicine and weapons made of iron).

Food is very long-term, so there is a lot of it, it lies in the warehouse and does not spoil can lie for years! Look I posted a screenshot of 20,000+ food today.

Here's a simple recipe for you if you like. It requires 4 NPC.
1) Hunter. Bring in 16 meat every season.
2) Water Field: Rice. Plant every season available (spring, summer, fall)
3) Land Field: Garlic. Plant in summer and fall. Every other year, skip fall.
4) Hearth with Cooking Pot. Excellent Meat Meal x8

Now, you will have to supply 8 oil every season (not difficult as it can usually be found in the three loot areas next to Sosogi (priestess, fisher camp, sick-guy hut). 8 Excellent Fish meals provide 1,280 meals per season. (8 x 160).

Now, expand on this. Use 3 more NPC.
In Spring, use the above land field to grow tea leaves. One crop will last the whole year.
2) Well: Bring in 74 water every season.
3) Fisher: Bring in 8 fish every season.
4) Hearth with Cooking Pot. Set 1 to craft 8 oil every season (1 fish, 1 water). Set 2 more to craft Tea, 32 each.
This will craft the oil you need for the meat meals and provide (64 x 15) 960 Beverages every season.

Later on, you can add plenty of Health by creating Sickness medicine, which adds only 2 more NPC.
1) Forager gathering Chrysanthemum
2) Hearth with Cooking Pot.
You're already making water and garlic so all you have to add is flowers. Adjust the earlier amounts to include what you need for sickness meds.

The idea here is to try and find a good balance. Mix and match ingredients.

For instance, Clay is good for maintenance but has to be gathered by hand.
Planks give the same amount and you can automate it along with firewood, sticks, and even bark.
A single logger with high-tier axes can bring in enough logs to provide what you need for production.
Firewood should be converted to coal since you get 2 coal per 1 firewood and coal stacks to 50. You can automate it along with your wood production. All the numbers I showed in the image earlier in this thread? Done with 13 npc workers. And they make everything but the axes, adzes, knives, and nets. Plus, they don't make their full capacity in most jobs.

Food does expire. Depending on the type, it can spoil very quickly. That's where rot comes from.

Meat, garlic and rice, I'll check out this dish! I usually do meat dishes: meat, egg, they are simple! No need to try to fully automate villages yet! If the season is over and winter comes, I don't touch the worker from the rice field! If everything is automated, there will be nothing to do myself then! 25 man limit is not enough! 25 people is the minimum for 1 village and there are 4 villages now ! 100 people ! Then I'll think about how to automate everything !
