Are you saying you can't replace the open hearth with the hearth and pot? I have been able to do this but it does cost resources other than just the pot.

Make sure you have the resources and the pot in your inventory then take out your hammer while you are in font of the hearth you want to replace, you'll get an option to 'move' or 'replace' the hearth.

There are 2 ways to do it. Either upgrade it like you would a wall etc. Or make a new one and delete the the old afterwards.

tried to smash the the old open hearth to replace it but says con not delete this item
tried to place a new hearth and pot as well as an open hearth but again wont let me place it
will try the upgrade option and see if that works

As toedrum said, have the pot in your inventory, equip hammer, face hearth and hit F. Then you see which resources you need to upgrade your hearth with the pot (you need more resources). Make sure you have those in your inventory, you can't add them later. And then repeat, click and upgrade the hearth.

either upgrade or build a new one could do.
But the stupid part is, you can't choose a hearth with cooking pot when you're going to build a new house. I could only finished the house with normal hearth first and then upgrade/build the one with cooking pot later(both way require double resources)

Is there a limit to how many cooking pots you can place? I have two houses with cooking pots. I am trying to place another one. The first two worked with no problem in placing the cooking pot after building the house with hearth only.

I have the pot in my inventory. I have the building hammer in my hand and stand in front of the hearth, but will not give me the options of move or replace. It only gives me the option to build a hearth only or build a hearth with pot, except neither of those work either. Also, will not let me delete the hearth alone without deleting the whole house.

So, I was just trying to upgrade the hearth to the one with the pot... and the "move" and "change" options are reversed for me. Hitting F moved the hearth while hitting T allowed me to upgrade it.

How did you fix it ? I have this problem like I have all the stuff needed, pot, firewood's etc and no option . when I try too change upgrade, the only option I have is to "Move" or to Change position " and move option work to move but the change potion nothing. I notice some of the keys not working also when I tried to move the bed by pressing bed key assign to it the option to change bed pop up instead and the other key that rotate somehow move the bed....my character also during change of season she was in the field and end up sleeping where the hunter competition is... very weird. I have no problem with all the keys a week ago and now seem like they all scrambles.

I just got mine upgrade to pot heart now but still weird....The move option is the change option somehow... and the change option finally show up but now it's move after relog ...well atleast I got that upgraded

I was able to upgrade after I restart my game, but the option to change still wasn't there but the key for move is the upgrade instead. Try this and try all the option show up. All the options somehow was scramble or mixes.In some items the option to move work but in some items it's different.... It wasn't like this a week ago.

I think you can't remove the old hearth because it belongs to the house.
