That's what I was saying earlier. How is it the game bothers to give me a blacksmith specialist who is famous for his excellent abilities... and yet... repairing tools isn't even a thing? How is it I have to go into battle with a dozen weapons, because 1 weapon can't even survive 10% of the battle. It's anti-immersive, and kind of ruins the fun? It's like my weapons are fast food. Since when is repairing a skill no one has... and how incredibly unrealistic is that for islanders no less?
Note: I agree that the basic level tools / weapons... "wood/stone" should be disposable... I mean if the rock breaks in half, or the bamboo/wood pole cracks in half... but the finest weapons and tools made by a master-smith are only meant to last for a day... WTH!
100% all of this...
What I wouldn't give to be able to give the / My Katana the love and attention it deserves after a few combat encounters with Bandits and the like.

It's not like you need to repair often when you get iron, heck bronze anyway.
BUT once you establish a good iron output it's not really an issue. You can probably get by on looted weapons as well. This was way worse when looted weapons from enemies had about 5% and would break in 5-10 hits. Now it's more random.
We have changed the plans and added repair mechanics in the last update. So they are already in the game.
fair play then ., but it still baffled , why it was not in it to begind with .-
as someone said , stone and such ,. alright break -
but copper and up .. should be able to bang that out , repair - so thanks for adding

You need to build a repair bench. It can be found in the build menu under basic structures. Once built you can repair any busted tool or weapon with it. Note it cannot be placed inside a structure.
Workshop, Smithy and Forge buildings have a repair bench furniture that repairs all kinds of tools and weapons.
