What do the icons under the mana bar mean?

Playing on ps5, but figured you guys might know best. The icons under the blue mana bar...what do they mean, I have a new 2nd item after fighting some cat boss but I have no clue what it means or does.... This game is cool so far, but it's unnecessarily cryptic in some ways.

Those glyphs indicate your healing. Think estus flask from dark souls. They replenish at confluences.

Don't they grey out when you heal?

I hardly ever heal so far on normal difficulty so I didn't notice. Also, each symbol so far is different, which implies they do different things. I thought it was the hp regen buff from my gear at first.
