Stuck with memory shards

So I have 2 shards right now and Owl tells me to put them in the orb. But I literally have no idea where it is, i see that orb like thing in the middle of the map but it shows no prompt or anything so I tried going to the bossfight and it doesnt prompt anything there. I love this game so much but the direction is some of the worst ive seen in a game

I had the Ice shard and the story shard. Only missed the one in the tower which I hadn't visited properly yet. I'm not sure if it was related but I actually completely missed a few areas from earlier out like The Columns and Albedo's Tower and Sky Garden etc, which would explain why i was fighting some of the bosses underlevelled. no matter how much I talked to Owl it wouldnt let me start the ritual but after coming back it worked first try and I managed to get all 3 Renee endings :)
