Really trippy in VR with VorpX!
So earlier today, I gave this a shot on my Valve Index, and tinkered around with it a bit in VorpX.

The results weren't too shabby! Since this game uses the Unity Engine, I actually managed to make a semi-decent shader profile. It was a real treat to play it using the space lobby background that comes pre-loaded with VorpX. You essentially end up with a 3D playing screen floating IN space, with stars and asteroids floating past you in the game itself.

The 3D effect wasn't as strong as I'd hoped for, but it was still quite noticeable. I know it's not very likely, but it would be fantastic if the dev got this to run in VR natively some day. It might even help with sales! I know for a fact that there are many VR users who would buy it exclusively for that feature alone.

On a separate tangent, I've played just about every version of Asteroids out there - from the original arcade, to the Atari 2600 AND the 7800. And I have to say, this legitimately is the most fun remake I've spent any amount of time on, while staying as close to the original as possible. I'm not sure why so many folks are bashing this. It's a DARN good Asteroids game - even for purists. I think too many people my age(?) are wearing nostalgia goggles when they play. (Instead of VR goggles!)

Fantastic music by the way! The tunes alone really keep me pumping those quarters. :lunar2019grinningpig:
