How to make a Freezer?
I know, even more questions. How do I get frozen water jugs and how do I make a freezer room? Again, any help is appreciated! ^^

Make a room with no heat sources (windows are OK, but not torches). Digging into a mountain gives you a bit of a safety net, since the natural mountain roof makes the room colder (at the moment, wall type doesn't matter, and no other roof matters).

Figure out the size of the room in tiles, and for every 9 tiles of floor space (rounded up), add a jug pallet. Plan to fill all the pallets with jugs of water (6 jugs per pallet). Around the last day of Fall (or a day earlier, if you built it in a mountain), it will get cold enough for the water to freeze, and as long as you can get all the pallets filled by the end of winter, the room will stay below freezing all year round.

Note that you don't need to rush to get the jugs done before winter, since as long as the room has no heat sources it will stay below freezing during winter even without ice. The deadline for getting the ice done is the beginning of spring. However, if you can get enough jugs made by the end of fall, the room will get cold enough to freeze a day (or two, if you built in a mountain) before the beginning of winter, and you can use that extra day to power-farm mushrooms or eels for the first winter.

Thank you! I am trying to figure out how to build into a mountain- because you can mine sections of it, and therefore I am confused on how to build a roof. Your help is greatly appreciated!

The Mountain roof needs to be replaced. It stays behind after Mining. Just place another roof where you want it. (or kept it If you want a cooling effect. But that leads to Higher fuel consumption to keep the room warm)

The mountain roof is left behind when you mine into the mountain as long as it is within 2 tiles of a "wall" section. It doesn't matter whether that wall is a piece of the mountain or a built wall, the mountain roof only needs the support (it will fall if it's unsupported).

Thank you!

Rooms inside mountains can be a maximum of five tiles wide. If you make them any wider, the roof will collapse and you will see a 'hole' in the roof if you zoom out. You can then replace that 'hole' with any roofing type you like. You can also use the Demolish Roof tool in the roofing section to manually remove mountain roofs. This is useful if you build deep inside a mountain and want a hole in the roof as a light shaft to illuminate adjoining rooms.

It should be noted that mountain roofs are colder than crafted roofs, so for a freezer, they're not a bad idea.

torches are fine if you have enough ice. I have them in all my freezers

torches are next to no heat and should never be calculated as a heat source
