Rats without Cats are nearly invincible plagues

I have 15 rats in my tiny house. They are consuming all my food quality. They cannot be deterred or kept out.

Not to mention they spend most of the nights running around inside the bedrooms. So there is a perpetual "Disturbed Sleep" debuff on half my clanfolk.

Exciting to see more animals being introduced into the game, but we really need the cats here.

You need snares around your entrances to your homes and in the pantry. They also only currently spawn when you "cut grass"

From what I understand, even after cats release, you might still want some backup snares in key places.

I have snares and they're ok for the most part .. easiest meat ever, I don't have to do a thing .. but they only catch 'some but not all' rats.

I laid about a dozen traps at choke points and on either side of all my doors. Managed to clean them all up in a couple nights with my food down to the last 15% or so quality. A little close.

Also learned that there are cats in the game already. Just had to wait for RNG to send me a merchant with one to buy. Haven't had any new rats for her to murder yet though.

Cats are not implemented and have pig ai, they won't help you until the main cats/rats patch comes out

I have a pallet with the seeds against a wall and some snares around it may they conquer the snares at the entrance.
And getting meat and such from rats is easy as you just have to keep a field with the yellow grass to clear (don't know the name atm) and just cut one of the squares to lauch a rat family. If all rats are in the form of meat in the fridge just cut another and the cycle restarts.
