Deer herds will leave the map if too many of the individuals in the herd are killed (by people or by wolves), but rabbits will always slowly respawn so long as there are holes.
You can encourage wolf packs to leave the map by killing a few members of each pack as soon as you notice the pack. You don't have to kill the entire pack. IIRC, foxes and wildcats don't have the same mechanic.
In any case, the answer to "too many predators" is to have dogs, and set them to "guard". They are very efficient at killing foxes and wolves that come near your settlement.
