Combat
Does the game have any sort of combat? Aside from hunting, that is. any raids to defend from etc.?

I want to avoid two lines of archers shooting at each other and kill boxes. So much time is spent growing the family they should mean too much for them to go through a meat grinder.

So if you read on the year 2+ events and challenges in the roadmap post, this falls more under that category, threats but not so much combat.

I do want to deal with wolves and bears too for example. Physical threats are find, but I really do not want to build the game around it.

Nope, your enemies are the seasons in this game. Dev has stated they may put small amounts of combat in sometime in the future (like stopping a few raiders from trying to steal animals) but this won't ever be a combat-focused or combat-heavy game.

That was mentioned in some posts before, right now there shouldn't be combat things but maybe in the future there will be added some.

Thanks, guys!

I hope it at least does really have raids and such. This is a complete turn off to me. Was gonna buy but now I'm gonna be waiting to see

Several colony sim games out there that do have plenty of combat. To be honest, I kinda feel like that area is pretty well-covered.

Well this one can add it too. Lightly.

Or maybe they won't end up adding it? Or maybe it'll be available with mods? Or maybe this game just won't end up being for some people?

Hey I don't know what you're being so hostile about. It needs to have at least some. Not every game is meant for every person. I agree...

But yeah it definitely needs at least a little bit. Raids at the very least. Thanks for the sarcastic comments and otherwise useless comments. I was previously unaware that you were the GateKeeper of the suggestions and what gets in and does not get into the game. I just found a thread saying that the devil will add at least a little bit so that answers my question.

No need to post spam

I completely understand that and that sounds good. I don't think it should be about building formations of soldiers and sending entire groups into battle. I do think it would be cool if a handful of like five or six guys on each side or something could fight over stuff like if they wanted to come try to pillage for resources or plunder or something or even you could do something similar. I think that would be neat but yeah I completely agree with what you stated here

I find the idea of Scottish clans never fighting as kind of strange tbh. I hope the dev will at least allow modding and maybe at some point someone can create a good and somewhat robust combat mod. I'm not saying the game should be completely combat focused by any means. I just think it's weird that you can't have rival clans that would attempt to raid you on occasion, even if very rare.

yeah the game looks cool but the lack of combat makes it not for me unfortunately

You say it has to have at least some combat, and then in the next sentence that not every game is meant for every person.

So, what abut the people who want a game like this but without any combat?

Modding is planned, and I am certain that if I can get systems modding working (that is in the phase 3 maybe section) then it will be added probably instantly by a modder :)

Devvie I hope any 'combat' you develop is strictly optional and can be opt-outed at the game start, don't ruin a good thing to appease these Rimworld fanboys
