Changing the parameters like more/ less mountains, lakes, bog changes the maps considerably, so if you want more mountains than I prefer, my maps might be useless to you. Also what do you consider good? I for example like to have a lot of green space in the middle with the lakes and bogs more to the side, but you might want a river/ lake or a mountain straight in the middle.
Sounds like you Take more then you need and then there is Not enough to sustain your clanfolk ^^
Maybe you should try a Challenge where you can't Take anything more then you need and don't Take anything where there is more then one resource in a Spot :P (so If there is a stone laying in a Grass tile you can Take neither)
Or my favourite Kind of Challenge...only harvest one tile of Reed in the entire Game ;)
Jokes aside:
I think restarting when you don't feel Like there is any Progress Made by your Clan is a good strategie.
But there will never be a perfect map. When generating a map Look If you Like the water Features. Then you can Change the other sliders with the Same map seed to See If you Like any Option of the rest.
I mean yes...ideally for starting you want a map with water/a small mountain and a small bog near...ideally some Forest too...
Maybe you Like building in the Mountains then you need more Mountains.
But you can really Play with any map as all Maps have those Features....
hummm, i think its a great point, maybe i should try what u said, take only what i need in urgent, but sometimes my folk doesnt do the exactly work what i want them to do, due to the priority issue, does it really work on the lv 1-10 of the priority/ sequence setting? any tips for that?
As about the map, ill see how do adjust sliders n see what will be different

Most of the time the problem is that you give them too many tasks at once. There is only so much they can do in a day. You can make it easier for them (like by having everything nearby and putting paths in between or making sure they get a good rest and are in a good mood), but they still won't be able to do a thousand tasks in a day, so they will pick whatever is first in their priorities and ignore the rest. If something in this ignored rest is something you as a player want done urgently, it can get frustration fast. Players often start to dish out emergency tasks left and right which only makes eerything even less efficient, as clanfolk will jump between those tasks without any plan.
So the solution is to reduce the number of tasks. You want to build a wall, hunt a deer, gather reeds and stock the kiln? You can start by outlining the wall and marking the reeds to remind you, but block both tasks for now. Let your clanfolk do their morning routine and wait until they have done all the other small stuff, like emptying traps and resetting them, cooking, producing coal and bricks and whatever else you set on repeat. Then mark the deer and set the hunting task on high priority or even emergency. Once one clan member has departed to hunt, you can unblock the reeds and the clan will harvest it in a concerted effort. Make sure to have an empty stockpile so they also bring it back right away to save them another trip later. By that time the hunter might be back; so wait until they have butchered the deer and start cooking the meat and tanning the hides. Other clan members might refill the kilns during that time or do other stuff around the place. If you have clanfolk idle, you can start small tasks like making clothes or clearing an area or chopping some wood, but usually, they will be busy. Once everything urgent is done, unblock the wall blueprint and they will use the produced bricks to build it.
At the end of the day, it helps if you give them some time to clean up. Make sure you have plenty of storage near where you need it, like sticks near the fire and straw near the building where you plan to build a straw roof next.
I often plan bigger projects and then try to get them done efficiently. For example If you want to build a house, clear the area first so clanfolk doesn't need to first get a scythe to clear the grass, then an axe to clear the tree, then transport that stuff away and finally fetch the brick, only to repeat the same for the next part of the wall. Send them out to cut all grass like stuff. Then send them out to remove the trees and bushes. Have them produce all the bricks you need in the meantime, they need some time anyway. Gather straw and clay or whatever else you need for building until the bricks are ready. Then build the whole house in one go. Build it with individual rooms and lay out straw mats while you are at it. It might take a day longer to build it big enough right away, but then you are set and can concentrate on the next project.
So long story short, if you want them to do specific tasks, give them specific tasks and nothing else, and the progress will feel like a breeze.
