You can Always suggest your Clan to be added
Lots of people take their heritage very seriously especially those with crests or tartans and just like companies that don't like close representations of their label doing bad things from being confused WITH their label...people with a clan that has a representation may not like screenshots of a plaid that is VERY close to theirs doing "war crimes." etc. (just as an example). I agree people need thicker skins but this game has had some of the WEIRDEST complaints and complaining reviews against it so the dev cannot just ignore it.
Like I said, it is in the cards to be added (it's on his list), he just is not committing to saying it WILL be in because he wants it done right and won't be offensive. Small dev games live and die by reviews so he needs to take a lot of care in the implementation. There also are quite heavy technical challenges to it and him adding tartans in takes quite a long time and effort.
