ylsides butcher me like a pig
well I found 2 pieces and go back to tavern to destroy the meteor,on the way there is a ylside in a narrow corridor and he seems to be patrolling in a specific area,he just owns me,he is way too fast and destroy my healthbar in no time,ı tried to hit him hard several times but he simply wont die.I searched on internet a bit people talking about fireball spell.Well the thing is it is a pain to cast spells in this game, drawing them is a thing and trying to draw them in a fight is another thing.I already cast 2 fireball spells (1 via runes 1 via spell scroll) and he still wont die.(I used my stat points for melee,I am not a magician).I cannot outrun him,he is too fast and we fighting in a narrow corridor, sorry for my bad english guys and pls help.

Try to lure him into a room where spells do not work (bridge).
Without magic, it cannot accelerate. Then you will fight with him in close combat. Or, I recommend, just go through the back door, through the Goblin prison.

There is always a way.

I use Incinerate and Fire Field and run around that fire field until the ylside is dead

The stackable Harm spell (Rhaa, Vitae) is your friend when dealing with Ylsides.

Better Vitae Movis. Harm bad vs. Ylsides, if you non mage.

The mana cost is too high, the damage done is low. If he doesn't know how to dodge blows, he will die.

If the player is not a Mage, he is not required to collect runes. It is likely that he does not have them. The strongest damage dealt is in melee. So you need to turn off the Ylside magic in the room where the magic does not work, and fight them on your own terms. Again, if you can't win in the room, then it's better to return to later levels. I recommend raising your Armor Class to + -100 points, then you can survive.

If you created a character that is not able to win in melee or absorb damage, as well as pumped in the skills of mechanics, craft, stealth, etc. - a useless waste of points for Warrior.

For me it was pretty easy to kill Ylsides with Incinerate and Fire Field. Even 3 Fireballs do the trick usually. The damage was enough. The trick with fire field is to keep the Ylside inside that field then he will quickly die.

But the overall trick is like you wrote to fight them while they have no magic. Then they are really easy. Or you can lure them to a non-magic area but there are many occassion where there is no no-magic area nearby. So he has to learn to deal with Ylsides without luring them anywhere. And usually I just waited until they have no mana anymore and become slow. Then you attack until their mana regenerates and you have to dodge.

I dont see how a non-magic character can kill an Ylside without dodging. He has to learn to run away effectively if he is not a magic-user.

You can win this game even as a thief without any points in magic or melee, though. Yes its way easier as magician or as a fighter. But still its absolutely valid playing thief.

You can also win the end fight with fists only. It just takes a lot of time.

I always had a lot of difficulty beating Ylsides and like you I had to use some spells.
I saw some videos in YouTube and noticed that players who focused on magic skills had it way easier.
On my next run I'll try to get the three pieces of mithril armor.

Get casting to 37 and with 3 fireballs he dies right away, bonus when you cast fireball and he comes close to you then fireball explodes right away, it took me like 5 sec to defead one of them like this 🙂 you can also pre-cast fireballs like before releasing spell you hold shift key and then use numbers 3,2,1 or 1,1,1 to spam fire balls 😀 also fireballs are nice to use to defeat those golems in cult level where meteor is located.
