The original unmodded game doesn't support that large of a screen, plus if it would the UI would still be not properly scaled so you have to install the unofficial patch, which changes the renderer from directx 7 to opengl and adds support to all modern resolutions. The patch is called Arx Libertatis and windows defender or an antivirus software will probably false-detect it for being malicious, but that's a whole different topic.
