lava pit jump level 8 on modern systems

this jump, the second one is just not doable on modern systems or maybe just by a pixel. i already tried like a hundred times now. yes i am looming at my feet, tried in movement, tried just standing at the edge of the platform where i was still able to jump, it doesn't matter.

oh this is great game desgin, let's put in a jump you can only make by a pixel, great fun. also doesn't help that run drawing on modern systems is f'ed up too, some runes are basically impossible to draw, like "communicatu" and the problem with rune drawing also leads to them cheat runes even harder to draw than originally. tried to by pass that jump with the no clip "stair" rune, but it won't register. got it one single time to register, was in another part of the game and couldn't revert it.

then with the pit i tried a mouse emulator (using the numpad keys for mouse movement) to get perfectly straight lines, it still doesn't register the stair, but instead other runes i didn't even draw.

now this might be a specific (or a combination of specific) graphics settings what causes the problem with the runes (and maybe that of insufficient jump range), but i already tried tons of different settings, tried various resolutions, disabled bump mapping, capped FPS at 60 and 30. clamp negative LOD bias, tried various AA settings, but ...nothing.

i know i made it back in the day, pretty sure i just had to check where my feet were and then it was pretty easy, but that doesn't cut it anymore.

what am i supposed to do now?

okay, i actually managed to draw the stair rune enough times for the cheat. not pretty, but i take it. (even managed to reverse it, i advise setting resolution to 1024x768 for that).

Maybe im too late, but:

How to install Arx Fatalis and play normal:
1. Install the game
2. Download and unpack in game directory last version Arx Libertatis: https://wiki.arx-libertatis.org/Development_snapshots
3. In steam: Open your Library, find Arx Fatalis, click Play.

In Arx Libertatis you can choose your FPS 60, 120, 144 etc. And no problems with jump.
Probably need start new game after install. Good Luck!

No need to start a new game after installing Arx Libertatis. It doesn't overwrite old saves when you install it because the Arx Libertatis save folder is in a different location to the save folder of standard Arx Fatalis.
