Weapon Glitch

I've recently encountered a game breaking glitch that won't go away. I'll equip a weapon and attack with it once or twice, then it disapears from my hand and I'm unable to use it. I try putting back on repeatedly and the same thing happens every time. I've googled the issue and I can't find anything about Arx Fatalis glitches. I'm using the arx libertatis patch and running windows 8.1. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible you just used up that weapon? I'm asking because weapons have durability in this game and when it reaches 0 the weapon just disappears.

Well no. I tried using a bone with 4/4 durability and it just goes away. Same with the dagger you find in the first level before fighting the goblin lord. Its really annoying. It seems to happen only while moving forward. If i stand still the weapon stays. But as soon as i move forward in combat mode it just unequips itself.

U need check settings configuration in game menu. Change to default or switch fight mode.

I'm not really sure what you mean by that. I don't have auto ready weapon enabled. I don't see any way to reset the settings to default. And what do you mean by switch fight mode? The issue here isn't anything as far as settings go. There isn't anything in the game, as far as i can tell, that would unequip an item or weapon for me. I just want to play the game.

So I've narrowed the problem down to a certain key being pressed that unequips my weapon. It seems when i try to turn left with the A key it unequips my weapon. I've never changed any settings relating to controls and I didn't have this problem in the past. I'm not sure what's causing it really.

You can set the control settings to the default settings via the options menu. Click on 'Control Settings' click on 'Customise controls', then click on the word 'Default' at the bottom of the panel. Fight mode is switched on (and off) by pressing the Tab key. The default key to unequip/drop a weapon is the 'B' key.

I presume you sorted this out ok by reassigning key 'A' to strafe left and key 'B' to Drop weapon as per the defaults.

Uh I pretty much gave up on this game because I couldn't find a fix for it. I don't have Drop Weapon bound to a movement key. It just seems to be dropping my weapon about a second after i press A. There's no key bound to A other than strafe left. I do know how to play the game. I've gotten pretty far actually. This problem happened when I decided to re-install the game due to it being installed in the wrong location. I got tired of having to search for it on my HDD, so i moved it. After being re-installed it wouldn't allow me to move more than 5 feet without dropping my weapon. Thanks for responding to a dead thread, but there's nothing really I can do about it. I've googled it and everything, nothing found so far.

Ok, sorry to hear that. It's an excellent RPG that most players like to complete once they get into it. I know I would be really frustrated with the issue you are having now, Personally, I don't care where the game files are installed on my HDD once I have got the game working properly and have got pretty far into a game as all the game modding/patching I might do that needs me to know where the game files are located is done before I start playing the game for real.
