Elevator feeding

Whats the penalty exactly for feeding the elevator? when I aim up to the mouth it says feed but with 25% penalty, maybe I missed it in some explanation but Im a bit lost here.

the 25% penalty refers to how much fuel is lost by feeding the mouth versus putting the fuel directly into the fuel tank. for example, Flesh will give 5 fuel if you put it in the Fuel Tank, but will only give 3 fuel if you feed it to the mouth, and a Slime Ball will give 3 fuel if you put it in the Fuel Tank, but 2 fuel if you feed it to the mouth.

right now, there's only 2 reasons i know to feed the mouth
1. if you feed an eyeroller to the mouth there is a chance it will spawn flies or an explosive mine, which can be fun to grief your friends with
2. if you run out of fuel in the fuel tank and the mouth becomes hungry, you can feed it flesh (or probably anything else that it can eat instead of store) and it will no longer eat a player

if anyone else has noticed other quirks about feeding, i hope they'll speak up
