Tips to avoid The Apartment Droid:
This guide is for the DEMO version of the security Droid in Chapter 5, and may become irrelevant as the game (and demo) change.

If you've played ALIEN ISOLATION, you may notice (I did, at least) that the Closets/Lockers are not safe 95% of the time.

The "Apartment-Droid" seems immune to my Jedi Mind Tricks, but tends to act like the Xenomorpgh in ALIEN ISOLATION in that it can hear you and see you... but not always. You cannot hide from it for long, and cannot use the same hiding place repeatedly, or it WILL get you.

Scary as it is, you almost have to just keep moving most of the time.

I found that I could hide from it in dark places (next to lockers and in doorways or behind boxes/crates) ONLY if I remained completely still while it was there looking at me, or next to me... but would come back and gut me if I was still in that place the next time it came through..

Debris on the floor (like trash and broken glass) WILL alert it to your presence, and it'll come for you.... but if you're completely motionless when it comes, most of the time you'll be OK.... just don't stay there when it walks away.

Unlike the Xenomorph in "ALIEN ISOLATION" you CAN outrun the Homicidal Droid, and hide. I did that several times with great success. Like the Xenomorph, it will let out a sound (screech/alarm) if it sees you, so that's a clue top prepare to run.... or be gutted.

There are alarm switches on the walls, as well as bottles (vodka?) around that you can use as distractions... but using them always drew the Droid to me... so.... take that for what it's worth.

So... "play Cat & Mouse" and "Keep Moving... unless it's right next to you" are my best pieces of advice.

Hope that helps some of you.

NOTE: I tried posting this under "Guides" but steam says "Access Denied?"
