Thinking about getting the game but if the Deck is not supported I'll get the PS5 version.
This is quite weird. And it is unity. Wow, that must one in a million.
Try "-force-vulkan" in the launch option.
I can confirm it all. The game works natively on Deck, no problem, except that damn map (to be honest, if you don't want to 100% the game and find all the collectibles, you don't even need the map. The game is not really a metroidvania, it's a straightforward progression and I never used the map once until I reached the endboss). Forcing Proton on compatibility settings makes the map works again. WIth Proton-GE 20, I still had 60 FPS the whole playthrough.
After a few hours I decided to switch back to the Windows build using proton experimental but there are moments when the performance drop seriously. It's playable but really sad.
I also found out there is actually a mini map when you press the right stick. I don't know if that one works on the Linux build.
I run a glibc 2.33 vanilla, with (~1-2weeks old) mesa AMD vulkan driver.
(Have you tried with the launch option "-force-vulkan" in steam game properties?)
Tell valve then.
dude, the deck runs a massive and mainstream elf/linux distro. I am here since the deck issues are often linux issues and the differential comparison can help pin point the issue.
If it runs well on my lean elf/linux distro, it is _really_ unlikely it will not run well on deck (the other way around is not true though).
In this case, it means the devs (or you) have to tell valve since it is running fine on mine. And giving the information that the game is running fine on a _lean_ elf/linux distro means it is probably specific to the deck.
