The parking brake is automatically applied when the ignition is switched off. Do not use the winch with the ignition off, otherwise you will get a cool car bounce effect and you may fall off the road because the wheels are blocked and the car won't pull properly. Conversely, turn off the ignition if you need to get away from a car that is hooked to a tree. Sometimes it will unhook itself and roll downhill with the ignition on. I also always turn off the ignition when rehooking to another tree, because sometimes the hook does not work the first time, and then the car unhooks from the previous tree and rolls downhill into the woods, and I get sad. Turning the ignition off acts like a handbrake and the car stays in place no matter what.
Developers, please add a hand brake or a parking brake to the game.
Now I mainly use it to get the car back on its wheels after a rollover.
thank you i was trying every button and nothing seamed to work but i must have not been close enough
