I tried a bunch of things, ended up putting the V8 back in the other truck, which for some reason, ran like garbage. Due to a bug that caused me to lose a bucket, I had backed up my save file and ended up reloading to a point before I messed around with it.
Right now everything is running fine on the second try.
My guess is... The Ford is a heavier truck. It needs a bit more power to move. I entirely suggest buying brand new pistons for the V8 and replace the old ones. They will not look rusted so you may have reused them.
This was the cause of the issues with the truck having no power, and I suspect the reason the other truck started to run poorly in my previous save.
Pistons. They are relatively cheap. Just don't get them mixed up, even one bad piston will ruin the whole thing.
But another question - did you guys repair that truck in place ? I tried to call the tow service but the second truck is greyed out and putting the winch of the first truck on it doesnt work :(
About your issue, I think you have to drop the engine in there for it to be towed out cause i completely rebuilt the v8 then dropped it in but like i said it still didnt move so I went back to the house to come up with a plan and i tried the tow service again and fortunately I was able to have it towed back
1- Repair and start the V8, can be done in the Diamondback(Toyota)
2- interact with the Dentside(Ford) {dunno if only opening and closing the hood is enough or just sitting and try to turn it on(no engine needed) for the tow option to be enabled}
I was going to try that.
I was able to tow the truck right after I found it. Hopped in and then towed it away. Then had to tow by other truck, and then pay to find the gas can that was inside. Oops :D
I completely rebuilt the V8. It still doesn't move.
I'm not seeing any wear on the V8 or V8 transmission either.
It has over half tank of gas.
and i found the v8 engine block only so i was kinda forced to buy all new parts but i had no issue with getting the truck to move and i also replaced the transfer case.i have only 1 issue when i opened the drain plug on the radiator nothing came out so i tightened the drain plug and then added coolant to the rad and it still has steam coming from the engine is this normal or is it overheating?
