Fairly obvious "My Summer Car" clone

Not trying to troll here...I haven't bought it (probably still will) but I definitely watched, then played enough My Summer Car to see that this is clearly a "redneck port" of the same basic game... so making that assumption what makes it different/better??

MSC started this whole genre, atleast for me. and i have played tons of this genre games after playing MSC. i see no peoblem with anyone picking things from it, i rather like it. and i enjoy all the games for what they are, own individual games with common tricks and goals. to give people something they (we) like to play.

This game is about a truck. Its very clearly a truck centric game with truck centric game play. You go off roading and collect scrap or mine. You climb hills to get to mission locations. This game just came out today so just like My Summer Car or any other game on its first day of release, there are some bugs and its obvious that it needs polish. There appears to be no real ultimate goal. You play endlessly for now. Im sure there will be more content to come in the coming years. The comparison to My Summer Car is partially correct. Your truck has an engine tires and drivetrain that can be serviced. You can pull the engine out and build one from parts. My Summer Car has a much more difficult and in depth mechanical system. This game can be somewhat compared to Mon Bazou. I would say My Summer Car has more in Common with Street Legal Redline Racing or possibly even Mechanic Simulator. There is certainly influences like the Survival mechanic but Im not seeing or feeling this as some Redneck Port or even some Off road successor of sorts. I think people that only Played My Summer Car may have this same opinion as you. You should give this one a try. Its very interesting in the way of Game play. I like all the little jobs you can do like collecting scrap or trash bags. You can sustain enough money to survive and get along without a job.

The dev has said that he got inspiration from MSC, ofc its a little bit like MSC. Whats the big deal?

Thats like saying Every FPS is a halo clone. As long as he isn't reusing assets directly from the game theres nothing wrong with it being similar. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I have to say this game is some MSC but I think there is more in the building of the truck, and the mud physics in the game are amazing. Still needs work but It is doing more than my summer car, and even can be compared to Mon Bazu in some aspects. But def would give it a shot.

Why am I seeing games pointed out as clones everywhere lately? I know guys who live like this in real life. My dad being one of them. What I mean by that is mechanically inclined and living off the land more than not. It is a way of life. Not sure any game can own that idea..

Dont known yet, but The Slaverian Trucker and My Garage are awesome and, despite having MSC influences, have thei own identity.

Mon Bazou, on the other hand, it's a canadian clone of MSC.

there are very few games out there that are truly one of a kind. my summer car was the first of a genre is all. this game is not a clone. people are inspired by an idea and then make it their own. my summer car was super grindy and purposely not fun at times. then along came mon bazou which is in my opinion much more fun and has a unique charm to it, then came this and this has its own charm too. there's also The Slavarian Trucker and The Long Drive. All have their own uniqueness. glad these are being made. why would you want only one of a certain type of game?
