[Spoilers] Cannot get the Strength ending
[Spoilers]

I cannot get the Strength ending, I've been trying this for 2 hours. I've read in the steam achievement guide that you need to do the interrogation part and finish with low confidence, but 1. the guide stops at a certain point so I'm not really sure if there's a certain expression you need to do after, and 2. this isn't working, William keeps saying he didn't do it and won't confess. I've tried it with many variations. Anyone has a good method to get it ?

You can use any emotions, just have confidence low at the end. You HAVE TO react with a sad face in the bathroom to the prompt about your sworn enemy dying or you won't get it.

I don't remember exactly how I went through it, but the manuals say not to change Will's emotions, i.e. turn off the simplified change of emotions and leave those that will does himself

This seems to have worked for me. After trying the interrogation for what must have been two hours total, by reloading again and again, starting from scratch and doing this in front of the mirror allowed me to get the ending almost immediately after. I can't confirm with certainty as I don't have access to the game's code, but I'm marking this as the answer here. Thank you.

This is a vague answer and most probably something I've tried many times without success, so I don't think that's all there is to it. But it's true that staying neutral builds up confidence so this still makes sense, it's just not enough. I would bet on howard's answer as being the safest bet for anyone struggling to get this ending.

I honestly can't say this will work bc I swear I did everything once and it didnt work then reloaded the last conversation and it worked.

Basically, do the mirror tutorial and do a sad face for the dead dog and a sad face for the worst enemy dying questions. Then do what you need to do to get into Martha's house and then arrested. I beat up Michael which you do by just acting scared to everything he says but I don't think that affects the ending at all.

Anyway, try and get the worst possible confidence level in the police interview which I got by doing a scared face for every single question for both police officers and then at the very end Lila will break down and confess. As I said, this didn't work for me the first time but then I reloaded the conversation with officer Fisher and did a scared face every time and it worked.
