Even Unreal 5 won't fix this...
There are server FPS settings the host can set so that the server is locked to a certain fps setting.
Setting this fps clears up a lot of the client side issues you are experiencing.
Now there are some things to consider, if the server host can’t meet a minimum of 30fps then it affects the whole server, I would recommend having a server host with a decent pc that can maintain 30fps with multiple clients and a strong internet connection.
Playing with my friends, I run a rig with a 4090 in it, with 2 clients I am able to set the server fps to 40, this makes it to where they experience no issues of dsync or trains jittering.
If you are experiencing jittering in a solo setting, lock your game to a fps setting, solo I lock my game to 60fps and I do not see jittering, but if I raise it to unlimited then I experience jittering.
Faced with the same problem, and yes, worse.
The train starts moving and rests against an invisible wall at 20% of the thrust.
yes, 50% then the coupling breaks!
Perhaps the developers have tweaked something in the physics of the game!
But most likely this is a problem with the updated version of the game!
ah okay, then for console, this will be updated to match the PC version in Q1/25 this will port over all of the pc changes to console, one of them being the fix to clean up jitter of moving engines and cars.
If this does fix the issues we have been having, then this will be huge quality of life improvement. The jittering is the suspected cause for many derailments on our server. I will try messing with the FPS and see if it helps.
OK! So I can confirm that the jittering does stop when i changed the server from my server machine over to my own personal computer with a 4060TI. With two players it is smooth. I will admit that the problem could be considered fixed to those that have a better than average computer.
