can someone tell me if private servers are safe to play on

recently i saw a video talking about hackers on servers and the guy started talking about the single player mode and he said if a hacker joins leave. But he didn't specify if its for public games only or both private and public

There isn't a difference between "public" and "private" servers. So leave in both circumstances

There's a new password setting that while I can't go into details, due to security concerns, has added an extra layer of security to the system. Having said that, if you are on a single player server, IE 1 person, and only 1 person allowed, it automatically prevents any hacker from attempting to join.
