How to delete Rolling Stock
Hey all!

Had a quick question about how to delete rolling stock. Bought a skeleton lumber car to see what capacity of logs it could store (which I found to be the same as the starter car so it's useless). I want to get rid of it. The demolish tool removes the visual of the cart, but it still exists and my locomotive cannot move through the space the stock once occupied. After saving and reloading (even if the save is after the rolling stock is deleted) just restores the stock to its former position. Extremely annoying.

Should I just create a small track somewhere and re-rail it there to get it out of the way?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Hello,

when you are using the deletion tool on any object, you need to make sure before you swap to any other tool or opening any of the menu's you need to right click to close the delete tool.

If you don't do this then whatever you have deleted will return on a save reload, call it a sort of fail safe to prevent accidental deletions

It’s amazing that they never just gave us the money back for deleting stock that we accidentally buy or doesn’t couple to other cars through bugs etc.
A simple pop up: ‘kerching’ 200 returned etc.
All other <cough> give you a refund like selling a locomotive to buy an upgrade, give you a discount for buying the newer stock

You can pseudo sell them by using Railroad Studio to give yourself the money back or a percentage of it. At least then you aren't strangleholding yourself for experimenting with checking things out.

I just find myself saving just before I buy a locomotive and then try it, delete the save if I don’t like it until I find one that suits me.
It’s the only way it works
