Re: 2024 updates
After reading the latest community announcements, I'm very excited about the coming year for Railroads Online.
Firstly, I can't even begin to express how glad I am that the Devs are listening to community feedback, and are going to overhaul the game with improved mechanics like a new UI, better visual maps, updating track laying, etc.

However, if any Devs are reading, I'm wondering when the community can expect those particular updates? As excited as I am that we're getting a brand new Alaska map with new features, I would much rather those improvements be put in place first before I invest time into a new map. Especially if the track system may change in the coming months afterward.
Will the Winter update and Map/UI be released in close succession, or are the game improvements still a ways off?

Either way, in my opinion I think it would've been wise to have focused on the gameplay updates before dropping a brand new Alaska map. Getting a new terrain would be worth waiting longer for if the gameplay were improved first. I'm glad that the game is slowly but surely improving, though I wish practical changes were the top priority rather than a new terrain to build on.

Hello, in our roadmap that is linked in the post you can see when these updates are planned. As we are going to release V1.0 by the end of this year, we are adding content that we want to have in this version of the game. in the meantime black sheep is working in the background on the Bugfixes, so content updates dont effect their work in any way.

I would like to add I'm having loads of fun with the Lake Valley map, and looking forward to the new Alaska map! My only small concern is will the track laying update affect already installed track the way the initial spline update did? I As much as I enjoy creating a new layout, my current layouts are VERY complicated, and would NOT be fun to recreate..lol.
I'm sure more details will come out prior to the Spline update itself, however, this concern will be in the back of my mind when looking for ideas on the new map.

Agreed. I've been working on a Lake Valley save as well and I'm still having lots of fun with it, I'm not sure if I'm ready to start one on a new map so soon. Lake Valley has only been out for some months so I'm not quite bored with it yet.
