both host and clients getting kicked out to main screen

me and other players who play this game together, aprox 4-5 of us, can't join our servers.
We tried switching hosts, regions, nothing works.
We're all running the BETA versions, and we've been playing together without such problems up to the last sign posts update.

When joining the server, the login prompt appears, type the password in, loading starts and a few seconds in, we're all back in the main menu. No matter who's the host, it's all the same. Even the host gets kicked out to the main menu without a single message or anything.... @DEVs At least add some message with error numbers or something for troubleshooting purposes, like SAVE FILE:number.number.number issue, or CONNECTION PROBLEM:number.number.number but.... whatever....

We have no idea what's going on, the game does not display any messages or errors. We just get kicked out.

They/Me can see the servers we're joining in the server list, so it's no a region issue, but never the less even when all have the same STEAM region, the issue of being kicked out of the session persists. It's most annoying as even the host gets kicked out, which definitely points to a problem in the game, not in our "connections".

We can all however join random servers in the server list.
We've verified file integrity in Steam, all files verified successfully.

If it's SAVE file issues that suddenly appeared out of nowhere, because of the last update, then i have questions @DEV. Nobody touched anything or changed anything when this started happening. We just couldn't join our servers after the update.

Any suggestions would be appreciated...

yes, also verified files on both machines. She can host, but I am unable.

Can you please check if you are adding the passwords corretly?
The LOGIN PASSWORD is optional.


1. The Host sets a SERVER PASSWORD as usual (ABC).

2. The Host can also set a LOGIN PASSWORD (123).

3. The Host lets the client know those 2 passwords.

4. The Client will enter the LOGIN PASSWORD (123) in the Server Search menu in the field on top where is written: "Enter Server Join Password".

5. The Client clicks on "Join Server". If a SERVER PASSWORD is set, the client has to enter the SERVER PASSWORD (e.g. ABC) as usual.

It helps Everyone IF you Give ALL the Steps You Take to Do What you are doing as the HOST and NOT leave ANYTHING out like Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 and I TURNED ON RROx NEXT or I'm Loading a Railroad Studio Edited Map.

usually this should not happen. I am just asking if this could be the case as this would be a bug then we have to check.

Just trying to understand the scenario: Person A hosts and can move about the map, person B joins and both get kicked to( desktop? or main menu of the game? ) Person B hosts and can move about the map, person A joins and both get kicked?

Second question: What are you using to communicate with each other and have you tried opening RRO without that running on your computers?

Have you tried running the game without using a save file, just the default new start?

Are either or both of you using Railroads Online Extended, and have you tried running the game without that?

That is my top-of the-head trouble-shooting procedure. Try to get back to the basics and see what makes the issue stop happening. Good luck.

I re-installed the game, verified all files, used only the server password that's supposed to be encryped in the host options and for now one of us can enter the server so far, so we have progress.

we rounded it up to one guy being the problem, when he tries joining, but the most intriguing part is we can all join his server, but once he joins any of ours it kicks us out to main menu. He will try re-installing the game and all that and we'll see how it goes

well we're supposed to gather today, on Sunday and try troubleshooting it again, but we're all adults, in different countries, so aligning our play time is.... somewhat difficult.
I've started the server i'm waiting for them to start popping up.

we tried it just now 2 of them are getting kicked out to main screen. All running latest build.
Both have re-installed and changed steam regions to same.
I enter the server of one of our players who started a new build on the new map, we both play, the moment they try to join we get kicked out.
Random people however can join the server and play with us, but our other 2 friends can not and We can join their server when they try making one.
They just can't play the game with us together, when certain people are hosts.
we're trying to change hosts with same save file, to see what's going on.
