Steam Deck Dock

Replacing connected USB cable
So, I just got my dock in, and I'm a little concerned about this USB cable that is directly attached to the dock. What happens if this thing breaks? I've yet to open the dock to see how the cable is actually attached, but it's a little worrying.
Ironically, the cable doesn't even fit into the deck if you're using Dbrand's Killswitch case. Nor does the deck itself. It tips itself over pretty easily. So, I will most likely be looking for a short USB-C extension to use.
I'm also not seeing any replacement parts listed on iFixit. It at least feels well-built, but I'm still concerned about the compatibility and longevity of the device.

FWIW I added a short 3 ft USB-C extension cable and everything works great. This has the added benefit of an easier connection to a laptop as well if I so choose.

Can I ask what type/brand of USB-C extension cable you used? I got one and when I have it plugged in, the display doesn't show up on the TV anymore.

I got mine from Amazon, the description is: 3.3ft Faracent USB 3.1 Type C Male to Female Extension Charging & Sync for 2021 MacBook Pro/iPad Mini, M1 Air iPad Pro.....

Hope this helps. It's been working ok for me extending DP and HDMI to two Acer 2560x1440 Monitors

I also got a short USB-C extension. Works great. I'm still concerned about the cable attached to the dock, but at least the extension has mitigated any wear for now. Plus, I'm able to use my dock with my DBrand case.
